Registering and Charges
Demand for all of our services is high so registering your children as early as possible is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Summerston Childcare is a Charity, which is Limited by Guarantee. As such we are a non profit making organisation.
In the Family Learning Centre some families may only pay a nominal sum for the service as funding for specific places may be given through the Sure Start initiative. Parents who are in employment will be charged for the service used and these charges shall be reviewed annually.
All fees are payable throughout the year with the exception of term time only places.
Summerston Childcare shall consider applying for Partnership with the local authority to provide nursery places for children in their pre-school and ante pre-school years.
All families must pay for the After School Care service as we have no funding for subsidised places for this service.
Families are encouraged to apply for Working Families Tax Credit as the Childcare element of this helps pay childcare charges.
Families are also asked to contribute towards our toy fund. The fund varies from project to project and this may be waived at the discretion of the centre Childcare Manager. The Childcare Manager shall discuss with parents / carers what, if any, charges shall be applicable. Any parent / carer who wish to discuss this further will be directed to the Operations Manager.
Occasionally we ask parents and carers to help us in fundraising events. These events vary from Christmas raffles to shows in which the children perform. The aim of the fundraisers is to raise money for the organisation to spend on Christmas presents, various expensive equipment, outings etc.
